What is a common read?
An opportunity for students across the Teacher's College to engage in conversations and activities regarding a specific book that they would be expected to read. The book would be chosen to target a relevant challenge or topic that affects education, the lives of students, and ultimately their outlooks for success.
The goal for this Common Read is to engage students in meaningful conversations about how and why specific structural problems exist and propose creative solutions for future educators. This concept, while new to the Teacher's College, is not new in existence. Various colleges within ASU participate in Common Reads as they show genuine evidence for growth and social awareness.
